The Key of the Sea

This photocollage is an hommage to the French Painter René Magritte. His work “La Clef des Champs”, which translates “The Key of the Fields”, depicts a broken window looking out into the fields. The landsape behind the hole came down with the broken glass and is duplicated on the fragments sitting on the ground. The same happened to this scene on Balmoral Beach in Sydney where, if you look closely, not only the landscape came down but miraculously also its colour came, leaving the landscape behind the hole in black and white.

This image can be purchased as a Fine Art Digital Print in various sizes. Please contact Birgit Neiser for details.
